I Can See Clearly Now

Our new windows were installed last week while I was gone (Rich was here). We chose the Milgard fiberglass single-hungs for the front so we could maintain the integrity of our 1937 Spanish with proper grids and paint color. We went with vinyl for the sides and back to save money.

Why I'm Catholic Part 53, Pimp My Kitchen and Why WV Hates VP

For someone who writes and edits for a living -- and is so opinionated -- I really stink at keeping up a blog, don't I? I think of a ton of things to post here but then life happens and I never get to it. So, random thoughts...

Last week's NT reading at church was one of the turning points for me in deciding to be Catholic. It is the passage in John 6 where Jesus says believers must eat his flesh and drink his blood to follow him. Catholics believe the host and wine become Jesus' flesh and blood through the priest's consecration. I found this difficult to understand until I really looked at this biblical passage. What got me was when Jesus said this, many followers left in horror -- and he didn't chase after them saying, "I was only kidding. It's just symbolic." Instead, he let them go, which to me means he meant what he said.
