Passing the Bill

I hope radio host Bill Cunningham is enjoying his 15 minutes with his references to “Barack Hussein Obama” at a McCain rally in Ohio yesterday. My advice to the Obama campaign is to issue this statement: “Trying to draw a connection of intentions between Senator Obama and Saddam Hussein due to their shared names is about as effective as drawing a connection of leadership ability between George W. Bush and George Washington due to theirs.”

Someone needs to tell Mr. Cunningham to go soak his head and quit insulting my fellow Ohioans by assuming they would accept such a spurious link. And now since McCain calculatingly condemned Cunningham’s comments, Cunningham is claiming to follow Ann Coulter’s lead (and who wouldn’t want to mimic her?) by supporting Hillary Clinton. So I guess the lesson here is people who speak for campaigns really don’t have a vested interest in the candidates and what they stand for, they just want to get on TV. If that’s the case, Mr. Cunningham has succeeded mightily — the media are all over him today. But he’s at about 14:52 right now.

Welcome Back to Junior High

Since I clearly am not timely about blogging (hey, when you write and edit for a living, it’s difficult to do it on your “free” time too!), I’m taking a shortcut and stealing the meme below from Janet Batchler’s blog, Quoth the Maven. Check out her blog here if you are interested in writing and Hollywood – her experience as a Christian screenwriter gives her rather unique insight to the doings in LA-LA land. I found her blog through my friend Barb Nicolosi, whose blog here is another great source of info on how Christian spirituality and the entertainment industry cross paths.

Anyway, we used to do these little questionnaires in junior high. We called them slam books – probably because you had to slam shut your book if a teacher caught you filling out one in class. Now they're called the much more refined "memes." I invite you to post your answers in the Comments section.
